What started as a couple of words to be present in our everyday of this transition, became so much more. A ritual of beginning each day with a word and ending it with a list of many. We felt connected, comforted, curious by the words but most of all we felt like we belonged to a community because of the sharing.
We've decided to re-cord these as stories on our textiles. We want to embroider the words like prayers - a new one each day. We also came up with the idea of giving a colour to each word from the simple palette of natural dyes we've been using. It's turned the last few weeks into a wonderful language of stripes.
